HOFEC FC marched on to the semi-finals in the ongoing King’s Cup competition, played between football clubs run by various churches in Lagos State, following a lone goal victory over the football team from Redeemer’s Chapel.
The fiercely contested encounter, which ended goalless in the first half, saw the opponents slightly have the upper hand, especially in the midfield. However, following sound tactical instructions, HOFEC FC had the upper hand in that department in the second half, and went on to register the winning goal. The game however was marred with a bit of controversy, that saw one of the officials of HOFEC FC given a red card and sent away from the bench, after he protested profusely at some of the calls being made by the officials, in favour of the host. This however, was not enough to dampen the excitement at qualifying for the semi-finals for the first time, since the inception of the tournament.
The semi-final match, will be played on Sunday, October 30 2016, 2pm at same venue, against the Goodland Rangers of the Global Impact Church. A victory in this match will see them qualify for the finals for the first time. since the inception of the tournament 3 years ago.
Let us continue to commit them in prayer as they strive to achieve a victory to the finals.
